Liturgical Music

Music is a vital part of the worship of almighty God here at Holy Family in Mitchell. The goal and duty of our music ministry is "to ensure the proper performance of the parts which belong to it [the choir], according to the different kinds of music sung, and to encourage the active participation of the faithful in the singing."

Did you know? “The importance of music in biblical religion is shown very simply by the fact that the verb ‘to sing’ (with related words such as ‘song’, and so forth) is one of the most commonly used words in the Bible. It occurs 309 times in the Old Testament and thirty-six in the New.”
-Pope Benedict XVI on Sacred Music
